Tan’s Emperador bringing back Andy Player Whisky

MANILA, Philippines - After a 25-year hiatus, the popular ’80s drink Andy Player Whisky will be back in the market starting next month, with a new blend personally mixed by the man behind the scotch drink, business tycoon Andrew Tan.

“I blended this whisky myself and I have been working on this for 20 years already,” Tan said yesterday during the annual stockholders’ meeting of his business empire, Alliance Global Group Inc.

Tan said the soon-to-be revived Andy Player will use grains from Scotland but would also have local materials. Tan’s personal blend includes orange marmalade and maple syrup, among other ingredients.
