MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has appointed two new board members for the Construction Manpower Development Foundation, Inc. (CMDF), the department’s training arm for the construction industry.

In a statement, the DTI said Teodoro C. Pascua, deputy director general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) president Augusto F. Manalo have been appointed to the Board of Directors of CMDF.

They will be joining the five-member CMDF board chaired by Rodolfo C. Menguita, training director of DM Consunji Inc.

Other members of the board are DATEM Construction president Liberito Espiritu and Rogelio Lombos, vice chairman of Engineering and Development Corp. of the Philippines.

Pascua, who was chairman of the Board of Trustee of Wesleyan University Philippines in Nueva Ecija in 2009 to 2010, also served as legal counsel for Cityland Development Corp. and legal assistant at the Department of Labor and Employment.

Manalo, meanwhile, is president and chief executive officer of JE Manalo and Co. Inc. He also held various posts at the PCA in previous years.

The CMDF was created in 1981 by Presidential Decree 1746 as one of the Boards of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines.
