MORE Power named grand winner at Asia CEO Awards 2026

MANILA, Philippines — MORE Electric and Power Corp. (MORE Power), the electric distribution utility serving Iloilo City, has been named Grand Winner of the Apex Company of the Year category at the Asia CEO Awards 2026, held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom in Newport City, Pasay.

The prestigious recognition honors organizations that have demonstrated outstanding achievements and made significant contributions to the country’s economic and social development.

MORE Power president and CEO Roel Castro, who was also recognized as one of the CEO of the Year Circle of Excellence awardees, received the recognition.

In his brief acceptance speech, Castro emphasized that while MORE Power operates under a state-granted franchise, the company remains committed to giving its best to customers, both in terms of electricity rates and quality of service.

MORE Power’s journey began in response to Iloilo City’s longstanding demand for better electricity service.

Granted its franchise in 2019, the company took over the city’s distribution system in 2020 and embarked on an extensive rehabilitation and modernization program.

Through investments in infrastructure, automation and customer service,
MORE Power reduced system losses from approximately 28 percent to 10 percent in its first year and achieved the five percent regulatory cap within four years. Today, it operates eight substations with a distribution capacity of 252 MVA and serves more than 104,000 customers.
