Marcos biyaheng Amerika para sa UN General Assembly

MANILA, Philippines — Nakatakdang lumipad patungong Amerika si Pa­ngulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ngayong araw upang dumalo sa  ika-77 United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) na gaganapin sa New York.

Inaasahang magsasalita si Marcos sa UNGA sa Setyembre 20.

Bukod kay Marcos, dadalo rin ang ibang mga world leaders na nakatakdang magsagawa ng mga bilateral meetings.

Inaasahang tatalakayin ni Marcos ang isyu ng climate change, rule of law, at food security.

“We can expect the President’s statement to identify these challenges and the solutions to address them, the role of the UN, and how the Philippines intends to contribute to these efforts,” pahayag ni Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Kira Christianne Danganan-Azucena sa isang pre-departure briefing nitong linggo.

Sinabi rin ni Azucena na nasa 152 pinuno ng ibang bansa at gobyerno ang dadalo sa ‘high-level debate.’

Ang tema sa UNGA ngayong taon ay “Watershed Moment, Transformative Solutions to Interlocking Challenges.”

Itinanggi ng DFA na kumpirmahin kung sinong mga world leaders ang nakatakdang kausapin ni Marcos.

“What I can say at this point is that we do have a number of confirmed meetings at the leaders’ level involving the president but we are not inclined to disclose at this point kung sino po ‘yong mga kausap niya,” anang opisyal.
