Espinos fastest in P Fuego Turtle Run

MANILA, Philippines – Siblings Marc and Patricia Espino topped their respective divisions in the 5K run to lead the winners in the fifth Annual Turtle Run at the Peninsula de Punta Fuego in Nasugbu, Batangas recently.

Marc, the 23-year-old village resident, turned in a 22-minute, 44-second clocking to dominate the men’s side, beating Elian Agustin Nathan Barclay (25:02) and Mar John Panganiban (25:17).

Marc’s elder sister Patricia ruled the women’s side in 26:08, eight seconds with another village resident Denise Decena (28:52). Mary Rose Bacay came in third in 35:51.

Francisco Martinez, meanwhile, topped the men’s 3K in 14:48, 14-minute, with Apolinario Villafranca second (15:07) and and Ramon de Pedro Jr. thir (17:47).

The raised funds for Punta Fuego’s Save the Oceans environmental program. The race, which drew close to 200 runners from village residents, club members and guests, carried the theme “Running Together To Promote Healthy Oceans For Future Generations.”   

Charlene Rose Serrano set a record of 25: 22 to capture the women’s 3K plum.
