Tempra Run under way

MANILA, Phlipppines - Close to 3,000 runners are expected to participate in the Tempra 2012 Run Against Dengue at the Roxas Blvd. in Manila today at 5:30 a.m.

Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim will fire the starting gun in the 3K race of this advocacy run aimed at aiding in the fight against the deadly disease.

Invida-Tempra sales and marketing manager Eric Pablo Ma. Lejano will do the honors in the 10K run, while Manila Sports Council chairman Paul Edward Almario will send off the runners in the 5K race.

Runners who still want to join can do so at the event’s onsite registration, which begins at 4 a.m.

The advocacy run is also backed by The Generics Pharmacy, Guard Insect Repellent, Ascorbic Acid Ceetrus, Goldlife, Maynilad, French Baker, Philippine Sports Commission, Tune Hotels, Resorts World Manila, Jansport, NGO partner Happy Homes, registration partner Toby’s and media partners TalkTV, Business Mirror, Health and Fitness Magazine, Takbo.ph, siguecorrer.com, DZRH’s MBC Sports Center, Sports Radio and sportsmanila.net.

Raffle prizes from the sponsors, games for kids and participants courtesy of Lipovitan, special guests from the Philippine Basketball Association, a martial arts demo, among others, will be on hand.

          Basketball icon Samboy Lim, Pinoy Big Brother housemate Luz McClinton and players from professional basketball team Petron will be on hand at the awards ceremonies, where prizes for the Biggest Delegation (school and companies/organization), and 10k, 5k, 3k winners will be given.
