Perpetual gets new football coaches
MANILA, Philippines - Perpetual picked Aaron Nebreja and Sebastian Gonzales to handle the Altas booters for the 92nd National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Football Tournament kicking off in November.
Nebreja, 26, a graduate of Perpetual High School class of 2008, was tapped to be the field tactician of the Las Piñas-based booters to boost the school’s campaign for the upcoming NCAA season.
Nebreja, holder of a C license, will apply his knowledge in kicking, defense and play. He was also a member of San Beda Red Booters, who capped the NCAA titles in season 87, 88, 89.
Gonzales, son of late photojournalist Rico Gonzales, will handle the junior booters together with Jomas Tamayo as his deputy.
Coach Seb, as he is foundly called, was a former Junior Altas booter under former coach Miguel Cajes. He played in 2010-15 for St. Benilde where he graduated with a degree in industrial design.
“We are boosting our campaign for the upcoming NCAA season, and are hoping we can surpass our post last season and hopefully enter the Final Four. (semis). Tiwala naman ako sa aking mga talented and new breed of coaches,” UPH ManCom Col. Jeff Tamayo said.
Nebreja, a graduate of SBC (BS marketing management) batch 2014, will be joining the Pinas Cup 2016 set Oct. 28-31 at Clark, Pampanga in preparation for the NCAA.
