Inspiring triathletes

OH YES, IT'S JOHNNY! - Johnny Litton - The Philippine Star

Ford Philippines officially launched their new lineup of triathletes during the Ford Forza 2016 Refuel event held at the Grand Ballroom of B. Hotel QC.  The Ford Forza triathlon team was created by a group of professionals who are passionate about the sport and the triathlon lifestyle.  The Ford Forza partnership showcases the personality and lifestyle match of the Ford vehicles with the fast-growing multi-sport.  The advocacy of the Philippine subsidiary of the American multinational automaker is to help aspiring Filipino athletes who lack the financial capability but possess the potential to be winners.  Actor-triathlete Mateo Guidicelli is part of the team with his father Gianluca Guidicelli as team captain. Both are Silver All World athletes. Team Ford Forza will soon compete in triathlon events in Albay, Subic, Cebu, Bohol, and Camarines Sur, as well as abroad including Vietnam, Taiwan and Arizona.

Of music and the arts

A turnover ceremony was held at the Little Theater of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) in Pasay City as the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) presented a nine-foot Baldwin Grand Concert Piano to the CCP. The said piano was purchased from the proceeds of FCCP’s fundraising projects led by the indefatigable outgoing president Nene Pe Lim and turned over to CCP president Dr. Raul Sunico. A fitting ending to the noteworthy affair were the excellent performances of Dr. Sunico on the piano, tenor Rheez Chua and mezzo soprano Krissan Manikan. Here’s to a deeper appreciation of the arts!
