Love at first sight for Mic and Alessa Alvez
As in most love stories, Francis Michael “Mic” Alvez VI and Alessandra “Alessa” Gavrielle Borromeo met through a mutual friend in Manila. While Alessa was finishing her studies in Interior Design, Mic was starting his own business.
They met again, by chance, in Cebu over the holidays. When Mic set his eyes on Alessa he never let go; when Alessa saw Mic for the first time, she knew it was love.
Five years later, the happy couple exchanged marriage vows at the Sacred Heart Parish. The ceremony was presided over by Msgr. Roberto Alesna and Fr. Rafael Borromeo, an uncle of the bride.
Alessa was stunningly radiant in a Veluz Reyes gown, which was embellished with thousands of Swarovski crystals, while Mic was equally dapper in a Paul Cabral hand-embroidered barong tagalog.
Principal sponsors included the bride’s siblings, Dennis Garcia and Cristina Garcia, Charles Garcia and Bernadette Garcia, Francis Garcia and Marisse Serafica. They were joined by relatives and friends, Gil Chua and Norma Chua, Apolinar Suarez and Camille Suarez, Joseph Cruz and Maria Mercedes Cruz, Kiat Chan andPeace Chan, Floriño Mendozaand Lydia Mendoza, Gabriel Neri and author Honey Jarque-Loop.
Victor Mark Cuico was best man, while Kirsten Cuenco and Nicole Ann Tseng were matron and maid of honor, respectively.
There was an outpouring of joyous emotions as the couple exchanged vows. After the pair was pronounced husband and wife, Mic’s parents Juan andKamla Alvez and Alessa’s parents Gerardo Borromeo and Lisette Garcia welcomed them with open arms, extending warm wishes and heartfelt congratulations.
For the reception, creative florist Pinky Chang of Pink Flora and event specialist Teresin Mendezona transformed the Radisson Blu Ballroom into an enchanted place. Cascades of white orchids, liliums, cala lillys and candlelit votives adorned the tables and made for a stylish and elegant centerpiece. The stunning visual effect took everyone’s breath away.
All 400 of the couple’s guests feasted on a luxurious selection of dishes from the acclaimed chefs of Radisson Blu Hotel. The three-tiered fondant cake was lovingly baked by Alessa’s titas Annette Gallego and Marites Lipardo of Angelicas.
The evening was made more memorable with the couple’s first dance followed by heartfelt speeches from the entourage.
