Maintain your salon hair with L’Oréal Serie Expert

When you’re fresh from the salon, don’t you wish your hairstyle and blowout would last forever? I try to prolong my salon results by sleeping on silk (I don’t have a silk pillowcase so I wrap a silk robe around my pillow), but even then my ’do only lasts a couple of days.
L’Oréal Professionnel has granted my wish of salon hair 24/7 by launching Serie Expert, a targeted line of hair treatments you can do at home to preserve beautiful hair in between salon visits.
“There are four kinds of hair concerns: damage, frizziness, dry hair or prolonging hair color,” notes L’Oreal Professionel group product manager Elise Veloso. “Most Filipinos stick to their typical brands, unaware of professional haircare solutions.”
Serie Expert is just such a line, with need-specific treatments meant to target specific hair concerns.
Liss Unlimited tames frizzy hair by controlling the influence of humidity on your tresses, leaving it smooth, supple and manageable. The Liss line has a full range of shampoo, conditioner, mask, double serum, and leave-in cream that coat hair with a film to block out humidity. Your hair will remain smooth for up to four days, even with 80 percent humidity!
For dry, weak and fragile hair there’s Pro-Keratin Refill, which nourishes your strands and also builds a protective shield around them, making hair strong and damage-resistant without weighing it down. Composed of a shampoo, mask, conditioner and Power Recharge concentrated in-salon treatment, the Pro-Keratin line cleanses, nourishes and treats damage-prone and fragile hair.
For chemically damaged hair there’s Absolut Repair Lipidium, which restructures hair from within with a complex that reconstructs each strand from inner cortex to outer surface, targeting sensitized parts of the hair and healing it from roots to ends. With continued use of the repairing shampoo, conditioner, mask, serum, Thermo Reconstructing cream and Power Repair, damaged hair will regain its health.
For colored hair there’s Vitamino Color A.OX, which maintains your hair’s initial luster and vibrancy. According to Veloso, color-treated hair often suffers from oxidative stress, suffering from damage caused by a mixture of chemicals and oxygen. “UV rays are also a factor in the hair losing or deviating from its original chemical pigment,” she says.
From the first application, the Vitamino Color A.OX line of shampoo, mask, conditioner, sulfate-free creamy cleanser, sulfate-free Fresh Masque, Infinite Primer spray and Powerdose Color in-salon treatment maintains the glow, shine, vibrancy and evenness of hair color with a combination of Neoohespiridin, Tocopheryl Panthenol and UV filters.
It All Starts At The Salon
At L’Oréal Professionnel’s partner, the hip and styling Basement Salon owned by Freddie Webb, the treatment procedure starts with an in-salon diagnosis of your hair, followed by the recommended treatment.
My very capable stylist Danny thankfully diagnosed my hair as normal with some dry, frizzy spots. Since I’ve been having my hair colored, he prescribed Vitamino Color A.OX to save the color and add shine.
“These are enhanced products with at-home treatments,” he said. “They will reconstruct the hair from within.”
They shampooed my hair with Vitamino Color’s shampoo, then applied the line’s gel mask. Next they sprayed Powerdose Color A.OX on my hair — a concentrated treatment that comes in a vial — before giving me a head, back and shoulder massage for 10 minutes while the treatment set. After rinsing off I got a blow dry, then as a final step Danny used a steam pad — a flat iron that injects moisture into the hair — to give me curls while still maintaining shine.
Now instead of just sleeping on silk I know I can maintain my salon hair indefinitely with Serie Expert’s take-home products.
