Museum of Indigenous Art opens at Pinto Art Museum
Pinto Art Museum inaugurates the Museum of Indigenous Art, a new building dedicated to the presentation and collection of indigenous art, sculpture, textile and jewelry from the Philippines and Southeast Asia. The new structure and its main exhibition, which opens on Feb. 1, is designed by Antonio Leano. The collection is curated by museum president Dr. Joven Cuanang, in collaboration with cultural experts and scholars Ramon Villegas and David Baradas.
The show features statuary objects, textile and jewelry from indigenous communities in the Philippines, amplified by items collected from other Asian countries like Burma and Laos.
The Museum of Indigenous Art of the Pinto Art Museum is at 1 Sierra Madre St., Grand Heights, Antipolo City, Rizal.
