BACOLOD CITY , Philippines   â€” The manager of an entertainment bar at the Goldenfields Commercial Complex in this city was shot dead by two unidentified men in an eatery near the headquarters of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) in Brgy. Singcang-Airport early morning Thursday, police said.

The fatality was identified as Melecio Endrinal, 38, of Brgy. Tangub in this city, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds while being treated at the Bacolod Adventist Medical Center two hours after the shooting, according to Sr. Insp. Charles Gever, chief of Police Station 8.

Investigation showed that Endrinal, manager of the Golden Shadow Bar, and his three female companions, whose identities were withheld, went to the eatery for breakfast.

Case investigator, PO2 Roberto Gaurana said two unidentified men entered the eatery and one of them shot Endrinal several times without provocation, and then fled through Magsaysay Street.

Investigation also showed that Endrinal had received several death threats before and that he had commotions involving his previous customers, who failed to pay him their bills at the bar.

Bacolod City Police Office acting director, Sr. Supt. Edgardo Ordaniel, said a Police Integrated Patrol System will be set up in the area of Station 8 to augment the crime prevention efforts there.  (FREEMAN)
