CESAFI beach volleyball USPF spikers remain unbeaten

CEBU, Philippines —  Defending champion University of the Southern Philippines Foundation spikers stayed undefeated in five games after upending University of San Jose Recoletos in the 18th Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) beach volleyball tournament yesterday at the Fort San Pedro sand court in Plaza Independencia.

USPF boys blasted USJR in straight sets, 21-16, 21-13 to remained on top of the boys division standing, while handing USJ-R its third loss in five games.

Southwestern University -Phinma spikers also scored its fourth-straight win at the expense of Don Bosco Technical College , 21-18, 21-15.

In the girls action, SWU belles improved to 2-1 after an easy victory over University of San Carlos.

Meanwhile, Cebu Institute of Technology-University outlasted USJ-R, 16-21, 22-20, 15-9, in the men's division.

USPF , for its part, captured its third win after beating USC , 15-21, 21-19, 15-12.

The reigning women's champ SWU Lady Cobras (2-2), on the other hand, won by default against University of Cebu.
