Two women jump off bridges
CEBU, Philippines - A woman died after she reportedly jumped off the Marcelo Fernan Bridge around Saturday night while another woman also fell off from the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge just hours later, but was rescued by witnesses after she landed in the water.
Police are still identifying the identity of the woman who jumped off the Marcelo Fernan Bridge and hit the ground, causing her instantaneous death.
The woman is believed to be around 25 to 30 years old, was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts and had P40 in her pocket, according to a report from TV5 Cebu.
Based on the footage captured by one of the closed circuit television cameras on the Marcelo Fernan Bridge, the woman was still seen walking on the bridge at around 12:44 p.m.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old woman was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center after residents li-ving below the Mandaue-Mactan Bridge saw her fall from the bridge.
The woman was reportedly drunk and it is still being verified if she intentionally jumped or accidentally fell off the bridge.
A certain Nestor Tujino, a resident of Sitio Seaside, Barangay Pajo, Mactan, saved the woman and called for help.
When they reached the shore, she reportedly threw up and was apparently angry at someone. According to the report, the 21-year-old woman had a fight with her boyfriend. (FREEMAN)
