'LeBron court' in Taguig gets Lakers touch
MANILA, Philippines – After missing a month of action because of injury, LeBron James is finally nearing his LA return.
But before the NBA superstar makes his 2019 Lakers debut, the BGC basketball court designed in his image already features a retouch.
First unveiled in 2017, the Nike LeBron Hypercourt used to highlight "King James" cloaked in the Cleveland Cavaliers' wine and gold colors. But since James' move to the Lakers franchise last year, the court was in dire need of an update.
And Nike wasn't about to waste time for a redress.
True to reality, the LeBron Hypercourt now dons the King in the Lakers' signature purple and gold. The superstar is shown wearing his yellow Lakers Icon Edition uniform, the same threads he wore in his season debut as a Laker.
