F2 Logistics, Foton share lead in Superliga
MANILA, Philippines — Touted F2 Logistics and new-look Foton Tornadoes Blue Energy grabbed the joint lead as they stormed to their second consecutive victories in the Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference yesterday at the Filoil Flying V Center.
The Cargo Movers swept past Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors, 25-19, 25-20, 25-16, to stay perfect and join the Tornadoes – 25-15, 18-25, 25-22, 25-20 victor over Cignal in the opening match – at the helm.
Defending champion Petron (1-0) was battling Generika Ayala (0-1) at presstime, aiming to make it back-to-back as well and a three-way tie for pole position.
F2 banked on a balanced assault led by Majoy Baron (14), Kim Kianna Dy (12) and Ara Galang (12) and a solid defensive effort sparked by Dawn Macandili (23 digs, nine receptions), Baron (7 digs) and Galang (10 reception) to score a followup to their three-setter over the HD Spikers on opening day.
“Medyo nababagalan pa ako nung umpisa, siguro kulang sa connection inside the court,” said F2 coach Ramil de Jesus, whose team sent the Lady Realtors reeling to their second straight loss.
“Sabi ko medyo respeto sa kalaban kasi pag nakita nila na galing sa talo yung kalaban, mabagal yung umpisa, sinabayan ang galaw, so dikit ang score and kapag dikit, nagkakaroon ng kumpyansa ang kalaban and tayo naman, medyo nagkakaroon ng problema sa loob,” he added.
