Magnolia stays hot, rout Blackwater for 4th straight win
MANILA, Philippines —Another rout was in display in Wednesday's PBA hostilities at Cuneta Astrodome as Magnolia drubbed Blackwater, 133-99.
Jio Jalalon buoyed the Hotshots for their fourths straight victory through an all-around performance. He had 13 points, 12 boards, and 13 assists for his first career triple-double.
"Before this game we were worried about Blackwater—their import, their locals. We know that yung tinatakbo nila sobrang taas, so kailangan naming isurpass 'yung effort (nila)," Magnolia mentor Chito Victolero said.
"Sabi ko you should work consistently," he said of ward Jalalon.
Magnolia notches a solo hold of the second spot in the Governors' Cup with a 6-2 win-loss record.
Blackwater slides into third, also with a 6-2 card.
Magnolia and Blackwater take turns on Alaska at the Big Dome. Hotshots go first on Oct. 14, followed by the Elite on Oct. 21.
