Lady Warriors, Spikers try to seal title duel

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Defending champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force and BanKo-Perlas gun for the clincher but brace for a tough fightback from top seed Creamline and No. 2 PayMaya in Game Two of the semifinals in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Reinforced Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan today.

The No. 4 Lady Warriors pounded out a masterful 25-23, 25-12, 25-23, victory over the Cool Smashers in the opener of their best-of-three series last Sunday with the reigning titlists looking to bank on their experience and poise as they try to wrap it up in their 3:45 p.m. encounter.

“Our goal is to get Game Two. We all know Creamline will bounce back so hopefully we will be able to sustain what we did in Game One. We are fighting for the finals. We need to give our all in this game,” said Pocari Sweat-Air Force ace Myla Pablo.

American Laura Schaudt, who replaced Serbian Nikolina Asceric, is expected to settle down and complement with the Cool Smashers game as she tries to help Thai Kuttika Kaewpin, Alyssa Valdez, Michele Gumabao and Risa Sato.
