MANILA, Philippines – Ricci Rivero has moved on from De La Salle University.
Following a rocky start to the offseason, the embattled Green Archers rising star said he is parting ways with the school.
In a Twitter posting on Wednesday morning, Rivero said "it's time to move forward."
All good things come to an end. Thank You to the La Sallian community for the support you've given me. The Animo spirit will always be with me. Its now time to move forward????????????

Rivero caps a tour of duty that spanned for two years. In the previous season, he averaged 14.1 points, 5.4 boards and 1.9 assists an outing. It was during the same campaign where he became a household name, all thanks to his aerial acrobatics and consistent display of athleticism.
In February, La Salle’s Office of Sports Development said Rivero, his older brother Prince and Brent Paraiso have requested to go on leave to avoid complications over a school policy involving endorsement deals.
The younger Rivero also figured in rumors that include drug use. He denied this after taking a break from social media.
Rivero is one of the key losses dealt to the Green Archers during the offseason. Two-time Most Valuable Player Ben Mbala left just as soon as head coach Aldin Ayo transferred to the University of Santo Tomas.
La Salle has made successive trips to the UAAP men's basketball tournament finals in the last two years, winning the title in Season 79.
