LOOK: UAAP bares first round schedule for Season 79

MANILA, Philippines – The wait is now down to just single digits.

 

With nine days to go, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines on Thursday announced the official schedule for first round of the men's senior basketball tournament.

 

Host school University of Santo Tomas takes the top-billing for the first play date of the elimination. They clash with Ateneo Blue Eagles, who like the Growling Tigers will field a crew without their reliable respective stars. Former standouts Kiefer Ravena of Ateneo and UST’s Kevin Ferrer both already graduated.

 

Taking stage in the first match are the UP Fighting Maroons and the Adamson Soaring Falcons. They lock horns 2 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

The Season 79 opening salvo will take a page off the Ateneo playbook, as UST plans on mounting the ceremonies in the campus' Plaza Mayor in Espana, Manila.
