Champs League launched today

MANILA, Philippines - The 2013 Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) National Collegiate Championship will be launched today in a press conference at ELJ Bldg., hosted by ABS-CBN Sports.

PCCL chairman Rey Gamboa will present the tournament structure highlighting the regional conference results, the participants in the Sweet 16 step-ladder knock-out phase and the Final Four championship series.

Also to be announced is the ABS-CBN Foundation benefit games “Games of Champions” featuring the junior champion teams, National U Bullpups of UAAP, San Beda College Red Cubs of NCAA and Hope Christian High School of Tiong Lian Basketball league.

 The benefit games will be played alongside the Final Four championship series.

The top four teams of UAAP and NCAA will receive special awards in recognition of their ranking in the collegiate championship.

UAAP champion La Salle, NCAA titlist San Beda College are seeded in the Final Four stage.

University of Santo Tomas, Far Eastern University, National University, Letran, San Sebastian College and University of Perpetual Help Altas are in the Sweet 16 step-ladder phase.

 Joining them are the CESAFI teams, University of Visayas, Southwestern University and University of San Carlos.

Regional champions Lyceum of Subic of North-Central Luzon, Iloilo Doctors College of Visayas islands, STI College of Northern Mindanao and Holy Trinity College of Southern Mindanao will also be acknowledged as Sweet 16 qualifiers.
