Huge field seen in third Stags Run
MANILA, Philippines - San Sebastian holds the third Stags Run on Jan. 13 with another banner field expected to participate at the Aseana City in Parañaque near Mall of Asia.
The event, dubbed “Takbo Para sa Bokasyon,” is aimed at supporting the vocation and other apostolate missions of OAR like those in Palawan and Sierra Leone, Africa, according to Rev. Fr. Joel Alve, OAR-overall chair of Stags Run 3 and vice president for student welfare.
Organizers of the event, led by San Sebastian president Fr. Anthony Morillo, OAR, are expecting bigger participation than the more than 5,000 runners who took part in the first two editions.
Registration starts next week and ends on Jan. 8. Fee is pegged at P500, inclusive of bib number and singlet. The event is open to all San Sebastian students, staffs, alumni and their relatives.
Former students and Stags tipped to participate are JC Tiuseco, Calvin Abueva, Ian Sangalang and Rommel Adducul.
“This is the third time we’re holding an event like this and like last year, we hope to get some funds to bankroll our educational apostolate not just in Sierra Leone but also in Palawan,” said Morillo.
“Aside from our charitable missions, we also aim to promote physical well-being to everyone through running,” he added.
Competitions will be divided into three categories, 3k, 5k and 10k, starting at 6 a.m.
