Gaddi dominates Mini-Rok class

-

MANILA, Philippines - Jet Racing star Christian Gaddi proved that he is still peerless in the KF2-KF3 Cup Series’ Mini-Rok class by ruling the fifth round with plenty to spare at the Carmona Racetrack.

The Golden Wheel awardee used his smarts and inherent driving skills to leave the chasing pack scrambling in his track, sweeping the time trial, qualifying heat, pre-final and final in yet another masterful show so surprising from an 11-year-old karter.

“I need to further boost my skills with such wins in order to be more competitive in a higher division such as the Formula SL,” said Gaddi, who is backed by Bingo Bonanza and Industria.

The incoming Claret School Grade 5 student even took the pole position of the final heat of Round 6, where he was first in the same time trials, qualifying heat and pre-finals.

But after sensing an unpredictable weather condition before the final heat of Round 6, his mechanic used a rain setup for Gaddi’s kart.

But the rain, which could have boosted the speed of his kart, never came. Instead, Gaddi’s racing machine ran slower compared to the previous Round 5, where he ended up as a runner-up to Ready 2 Race Gear’s Basti Escalante.

“No matter how good you are, when you apply a wrong setup, you’ll find it hard to win. But credit Christian’s terrific skills, he still managed to control the pace using a kart with a rain setup as he led the whole race of the final heat until the final lap where he was overtaken by Escalante,” said Gaddi’s mother Teena.
