PBAP rules girls team, all-events

-

MANILA, Philippines - PBAP continued its dominance of the girls’ events in the ongoing 17th National Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships at Bowling Inn in Taft Avenue by ruling the team and all-events.

In a strong bid to wrest the over-all title, the PBAP girls led by singles gold medallist Lara Posadas, Anne Marie Kiac, Anne Ramirez and Niqui Bernabe, rolled 4622 points for a commanding victory over Prima Team 1 (4481) and TBAM 1 (4428).

The Prima 1 boys team of Marvin Reyes, Enzo Hernandez, Jerht Santos and Renz Taylo, avenged the loss of their teammates by slipping past two MTBA teams with 4913 for the gold. MTBA 2 took silver with 4802, while MTBA 1 settled for the bronze with 4775.

Posadas was unchallenged in grabbing the girls’ all-events gold medal with her 3918 total (217 average). TBAM 1’s Alexis Sy (3730) and Kim Lao (3558) took the silver and bronze, respectively.   In the boys’ division, MTBA’s Louie Chuaquico banked on a high 246 final game to overtake Renz Taylo for his second gold of the tournament. Chuaquico talled 3934 (218 average) to relegate Taylo (3904) and Hernandez (3901) to the silver and bronze, respectively.

With only the final of the Masters events left, the race for the over-all championship got tighter with TBAM and PBAP crowding for honors. The Paeng Nepomuceno Youth Perpetual Cup will be presented to the winning team. The four day championships are presented and organized by the Philippine Bowling Congress Youth Committee, under the auspices of PBC President Nitoy Tamayo.
