Charges vs PKF head bared
The Philippine Olympic Committee's fact-finding committee tasked to look into the controversial karatedo issue yesterday bared the charges lodged by the disgruntled national athletes, who resigned from the Philippine Karatedo Federation under president Pocholo Veguillas.
Go Teng Kok, who co-chairs the said committee along with former POC head Jose
Sering, Ral Rosario and Nestor Ilagan, made the disclosure of the athletes'
grievances although he stressed that these were only transmitted to them
verbally and were not official.
Among the charges was the alleged slashing by Veguillas of 10 percent from the athletes monetary incentives from the Philippine Sports Commission, allegedly to raise funds for the association's Christmas parties, which, according to them, never happened.
They also alleged that they were also asked to sign blank vouchers and that they were made to train and coach Veguillas' Association for the Advancement of Karatedo (AAK) students without compensations.
However, Veguillas, who headed the PKF since it was founded in 1988, said the charges were baseless and that he's ready to defend himself in the proper forum.
"We will deal with it as soon as it gets official. Sa ngayon, hearsay lang ang mga ito," Veguillas said.
