Romero kay Peping: Mag-resign ka na

Pilipino Star Ngayon

“For the sake of Philippine sports, I call on Mr. Cojuangco to be a true sportsman and statesman and step down. There are younger and more competent leaders who can take over,” wika ni Romero sa Usaping Balita forum sa Serye Café’ sa Quezon City.

“We are now No. 6 among 11 countries in ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations). We are behind Singapore, which has only three million people compared to 110 million Filipinos. Cambodia and Laos are fast catching up with us. We have to save Philippine sports,” sambit pa ni Romero.

“12 years is enough. If he does not give way to younger leaders, he will have served for 16 years. Maybe, he will consider retiring at 86 by then,” ani Romero.

“We will start with their failure to account for P125 million received from the PSC (Philippine Sports Commission). We will try to find out where this huge amount was used or misused. It’s not a political organization, but there is excessive politics in it. If you are not with the incumbent leaders, you are ostracized. We have to depoliticize it,” dagdag ni Romero. (CCo)
