Clarin kinilala ang tagumpay ni WBC champ Jerusalem
MANILA, Philippines — Sinaladuhan ni Games and Amusements Board (GAB) Chairperson Atty. Richard S. Clarin si reigning World Boxing Council (WBC) minimumweight champion Melvin “El Gringo” Jerusalem.
Bumisita ang champion fighter kay Clarin at sinariwa ng boksingero ang laban sa noo’y defending champion na si Yudai Shigeoka ng Japan sa kanilang laban sa Nagoya noong Marso 31.
“Who could ever forget your well-timed right counters in rounds three and six, and the moment you delivered a stunning blowthat sent Shigeoka to the floor? History for the whole Philippine boxing and sports community was made that day and we couldn’t be more proud,” ayon kay Clarin.
Bilang International Secretary ng World Boxing Council (WBC) Board of Governors, pinarangalan ni Atty. Clarin si Jerusalem ng mga certificate of recognition mula sa WBC at GAB.
“Jerusalem is our very first and currently the only Filipino world boxing champion for the year 2024 with an impressive record of 22 wins with 12 knockouts and 3 defeats. Your Games and Amusements Board family is forever proud of you, Melvin! Iinagmamalaki ka ng buong Pilipnas!” sambit ng GAB chairperson.
