Tulad ni Regine, tatay ni Derek may sakit din at naka-confine

Like Regine Velasquez, Derek Ramsay is himself worried for his dad. In his Twitter account, he requested for prayers for his father, who, he mentioned, is confined sa isang undisclosed na hospital.

In the case of Regine, finally she talked on TV about her dad’s condition. Although daw serious pa rin ito they are still hoping for the best. Likewise, she is asking for prayers.

Richard lumipad pa-US, aamin na sa ‘anak’ pagbalik?

Heard that Richard Gutierrez will soon do an episode in Maalaala Mo Kaya (MMK) with Angel Aquino. Which is not surprising dahil eager nga ang ‘‘powers’’ behind MMK to have him in one of their episodes.

In fact, ’yung role na ginampanan ni Paulo Avelino sa katatapos na episode ng anthology, where he was paired with Angel Locsin who played a TB patient, was first offered to him. Kaso, according to Jun Lalin, Richard’s hand­ler, may sakit si Richard at that time.

Frankly, I’d say na ’di ako directly fan ni Paulo. Kahit ba pinanonood ko naman ang unang series na ginawa niya sa ABS-CBN, Walang Hanggan.

Well, hanggang to the end, he was just a so-so actor for me.

But in that particular MMK episode, which was given the title Mask (a facial cover used by tuberculosis patients and the attendants assigned to them), I’d say I take my hats off to Paulo.

As the male nurse assigned to look after patient Angel and who, at first sight, fell in love with her, masasabing napaka-convincing ng aktor. And he was consistent all throughout.

Maganda ang chemistry nila ni Angel, who, once more, ay nagpakitang gilas sa kanyang role bilang isang TB patient.

Directed by Jerry Lopez Sineneng that particular MMK episode was one of the best produced by the popular and long exis­ting TV anthology.

Speaking of Richard, expired na ang kanyang contract with GMA 7, which was ‘‘home’’ to him for the last 11 years.

While obviously nagpaplano kung anong move ang gagawin niya next in his showbiz career, Richard decided na sumama sa kanyang Mommy Annabelle Rama who left for the US a few days ago.

Nasa US din kasi ang ama niyang si Eddie Gutierrez.

Kung sabagay, Richard can afford to take his time sa desisyon niya na may kinalaman sa kanyang showbiz career. After all, like his twin brother Raymond, nakapagpundar din siya ng negosyo — isang spa cum gym at isang bar.

Meanwhile, where his love life is concerned, let’s give him as well enough time para pag-isipan kung parents na nga sila sa kanyang karelasyon na si Sarah Lahbati to a baby boy. Or baby girl ba?

Honesto actor misteryo pa rin

Sa kasalukuyan, wala pang balak ang pamunuan ng Dreamscape Productions, headed by business unit head ng ABS-CBN na si Deo Edrinal na pa­nga­lanan ang eight years old na batang gaganap sa next series nilang ipo-produce, Honesto.

Basta makilala lang daw muna ito na Honesto, ani Eric John Salut, spokesperson for the production.

But one thing EJ (pet name ni Eric John) can say about the boy is that he is talented. Akmang-akma raw sa kanya ang role na Honesto, na ayaw din munang magbigay ng clue ni EJ kahit katiting man lang.

All he assured us is that a presscon will be orga­nized purposely for this project.
