Raiders vs Lady Troopers sa PSL finals

MANILA, Philippines - Hindi napigilan ang mga atake ni Maika Ortiz ng PLDT Home TVolution Power Attackers para maitakas ng RC Cola-Air Force Raiders ang 16-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-20, 15-12, panalo at umabante sa championship sa 2014 PLDT Home-Philippine SuperLiga (PSL) All-Filipino Conference volleyball tournament kahapon sa Cuneta Astrodome sa Pasay City.

Nagpakawala ng 14 kills tungo sa 17 puntos si Ortiz at inako niya ang apat sa huling anim na puntos ng Raiders para manalo sa knockout semifinals kahapon.

Makakatapat ng Rai­ders ang two-conference champion Generika-Army Lady Troopers  na sinibak ang palaban na expansion team AirAsia Flying Spi­kers, 25-20, 25-23, 25-16, sa isa pang semis match.

Ang one-game finals sa ligang inorganisa ng Sports Core at handog ng PLDT Home DSL bukod sa ayuda ng Mikasa, Asics, Mueller Tapes, Jinling Sports Equipment, LGR, Bench at Healthway Medical ay gagawin sa Sabado.

May tatlong blocks pa si Ortiz habang sina Iari Yongco at Joy Cases ang sumuporta sa kanilang 12 at 10 puntos.

“Maika stepped up down the stretch. But it was also our defense especially down the stretch that helped us win this game against a veteran team like PLDT,” pahayag ni Raiders coach Clarence Esteban na nakapasok sa championship matapos mangulelat sa nakaraang conference

Si Sue Roces ay mayroong 20 puntos habang si Lou Ann  Latigay ay may 18 para sa Power Attackers na nanlupaypay sa mahalagang set at mamaalam sa labanan para sa titulo.
