Pinoy jins sisipa sa World University

MANILA, Philippines - Magpapadala ang Phi­lippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) ng 19 men at women jins para sumali sa 2014 World University Taek­wondo Championships mula Hunyo 8 hanggang 14 sa Hohhot, China.

Sina Roberto Cruz, Dindo Simpao at Jean Pierre Sabido ang mga tatayong opisyales ng Phi­lippine/Smart team at ang mga panlaban ay isasali sa kyorugi (free sparring) at poomsae (forms) events sa kompetisyong katatampukan ng mga mahuhusay na university athletes sa mundo.

“It’s a great opportunity and exposure for our athletes to participate in the World University championships,” wika ni PTA CEO Sun Chon Hong. “It will also serve as a good preparation for our participation in the 17th Asian Games this year in Incheon, Korea.”

Hanap ng ipadadalang delegasyon na higitan ang isang pilak at dalawang bronze medals na napanalunan noong 2012 edis­yon sa Pocheon, Korea.

Si Mary Anjelay Pelaez ang nanalo ng pilak sa sparring habang sina Leanarda Landrito at Patricia Mae Sembrano ang nanalo ng bronze medals sa poomsae.

Ang mga manlalaro sa kyorugi ay sina Francis A­aron Agojo, Enrique Edgardo Mora IV, Lorenz Chavez, Arven Alcantara, Eddtone Lumasac, Christian Al Dela Cruz at Nicole Zapata sa kalalakihan habang sina Korina Paladin, Ronnielette Balancio, Nicole Abigail Cham, Clouie Bolinas, Patricia Francesca Gonzalez at Jane Rafaelle Narra sa kababaihan.

Panlaban sa poomsae sina Vidal Marvin Gabriel, Dustin Jacob Mella, Raphael Enrico Mella, Juvenile Faye Crisostomo, Leanarda Nicole Landrito at Jocel Lyn Ninobla.

Makakasali ang Pilipinas dahil sa suporta ng MVP Sports Foundation, Smart Communications Inc., PLDT, TV5 at PSC.
