Lassiter na-injured, out na sa Governors Cup

MANILA, Philippines - Hindi na makalalaro si Fil-Am guard Marcio Lassiter sa kabuuan ng 2012 PBA Go­vernors Cup para sa Pe­tron Blaze dahil sa isang hand injury.

Kahapon ay mu­ling nag­­karoon ng injury si Las­siter, nagmula sa Po­werade, nang mag-ekis ang kanyang mga tuhod sa kanilang team practice.

Nauna rito, hindi rin nakapag-ensayo sina Dorian Peña at Fil-Am Chris Lutz makaraang magkaroon ng injury.

“Peña was just back then. Those of Lutz and Lassiter were more of accident,” sabi ni Olsen Racela, ang bagong head coach ng Boosters.

Nagkaroon ang 6-foot-7 na si Peña ng isang hamstring injury noong Lunes kasunod si Lutz noong Martes.

“We lost an important player because of a trade in the first week. Three more down because of injuries this week. Not exactly the kind of start we want,” wika ni Racela sa kanyang Twitter account tungkol sa trade kay Dondon Hontiveros.

Si Racela, pumalit kay Ato Agustin matapos ang Governors Cup, ay tutulungan ni assistant coach Rajko Toroman.

“I must admit we have a strong lineup. I am the one that is suspect minus the experience,” ani Racela. “That’s why I work closely with coach Rajko. I’m excited to work with him because I learn a lot from him.”

Nasa Petron pa rin sina two-time PBA MVP Danny Ildefonso, Arwind Santos, Jay Washington, Alex Cabagnot, Denok Miranda, Joseph Yeo at top draft pick Junmar Fajardo.
