Ortigas Home Depot Complex - A haven for car clubs and enthusiasts

-

MANILA, Philippines - Ortigas Home Depot Complex has become a place for holding auto shows and car club gatherings, fondly called “EB’s” or “eyeball events”. With its expansive parking and wide choice of restaurants and bars in the vicinity, these events are reminiscent of festive open car park gatherings of the 1980s where car enthusiasts gather together in commercial parking lots to showcase their cars and visitors are expected to mingle with the car owners, who proudly showcase their customized car set ups.

Last July 17th, Altis Club Philippines held its club meet and photo shoot at Ortigas Home Depot. Together with Drift Magazine, some 50 cars and members of the Altis Club gathered in the open grounds of Ortigas Home Depot for their photo session and the club will be featured in the next edition of Drift Magazine’s Club Garage Section.

Altis Club Philippines (also called Altis Club ZZ) was formed sometime late 2004. Initially, the club was composed of owners of the 9th generation of the Toyota Corolla Altis. Since then other generation Corolla owners have begun to join the club as well. The club also held its official EB at JT’s Manukan located at Ortigas Home Depot last June 26. Aside from its regular EB’s, the club has done its share of civic and social responsibilities by participating in various outreach activities like relief operations during the last typhoon season and visitations to foundations like the Golden Acres.
