An insightful talk with Vicki Belo

Belo Medical Group founder and medical director Dr. Vicki Belo was the special guest speaker at the Philippine Association of Primary Skin Health Physicians Inc.’s (PAPSHPI’s) 12th Annual Convention held recently at Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Quezon City.

The beauty doctor gave a talk titled “Need for Speed: Lasers for Inks and Spots” where she discussed the latest innovations in laser technology being used in Belo clinics. Vicki was also inducted as an honorary member of the said organization with PAPSHPI founding chairman Dr. Grace Lopez and president Dr. Marlon Ulit leading the induction rites. Also a guest of honor during the event was Philippine Medical Association president Dr. Irineo Bernardo III.

Meanwhile, Belo Medical Group’s Dr. Zaidy Zagala Velasco was one of the convention speakers with her talk titled “Combined Gold Standard Mono-Polar Radio Frequency and Non-Ablative Dual Wavelength Laser System for Skin Tightening and Scar Resurfacing.”

The Chamber of Pawnbrokers of the Philippines Inc. (CPPI), under the leadership of its president and Zambia Consul Luis Ablaza, held its mid-year conference at the Quezon City Sports Club.

Attendees of the conference participated in various activities including a discussion regarding the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ amended and proposed rules and regulations covering the pawnshop industry, a seminar about the Anti-Money Laundering Act of 2001 facilitated by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) and a discussion about estate planning.

Lifelong treasures

The tightly-knit group of Maryknoll College (now known as Miriam College) schoolmates had a reunion held at the lovely home of Minerva Tanseco.

It was a fun and wonderful get-together as the ladies reminisced about their student days and did some catching up over a sumptuous lunch. Indeed, one’s childhood friends are among the best!

A remarkable partnership to boost tourism
