Let’s go local this Valentine’s Day!

Get your flowers from Dangwa, but buy only those grown in Baguio and Trinidad or Tagaytay and not the imported (and super expensive) roses or peonies or orchids. Yes, even these local flowers are now more expensive, but please support our growers and flower farms; their flowers are beautiful too.

Vegetable bouquets are a new, unique and good gift idea. Giving onions, ampalaya, pechay and talong – creatively arranged and packaged – will surely say “I love you” as much as a bouquet of red roses or carnations. And, despite market prices supposedly going down, a vegetable bouquet might just cost as much as a bouquet of roses!

Chocolates? Yes, please! But make them Malagos or Theo&Philo or Auro or Kablon or any other local brand that are as good, if not sometimes even better, than imported chocolates. Our local chocolates have won international awards, and offer flavors unique to our taste like mango, barako coffee, turon, calamansi, adobo and many more. Even tablea (balls of ground cacao beans) will make a wonderful gift – you and your loved ones can share a delicious cup of tsokolate eh!
