Son who killed brother, dad and mom arrested

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Policemen arrested on Friday, September 12, a 23-year-old man who killed his parents and younger brother using a sledgehammer right in their home in Barangay Managok, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, on May 21.
Col. Jovit Culaway, Bukidnon’s provincial police director, confirmed on Saturday, September 13, that John Kyler Labora Andojon, who had confessed to the brutal murder of his 50-year-old father, 48-year-old mother, and 14-year-old brother, is now detained.
Culaway said Andojon was cornered on Friday in Barangay 1, Malaybalay City, by a team of policemen and community leaders, acting on tips about his presence in the area from villagers aware of the atrocity he had perpetrated on May 21, 2025.
Relatives and neighbors of the Andojons in Barangay Managok told reporters that the suspect could have been suffering from depression at the time, after failing to graduate along with his batchmates in a criminology course in a Bukidnon college due to academic issues.
Culaway said it was confidential informants who led personnel of the Malaybalay City Police Station and local officials to his exact location in Purok 4, Barangay 1, Malaybalay, one of the two cities in Bukidnon in Region 10.
Andojon was earlier charged with two counts of parricide and one count of murder for killing his parents and brother in an attack that triggered outrage among the communities in Malaybalay City and went viral on Facebook.
