Manhunt on for suspect in physician’s murder
MANILA, Philippines — Police have launched a manhunt for a man who stabbed to death a physician in Quezon City on Friday night.
A passerby found the 68-year-old physician dead in his sport utility vehicle, which was parked along Mindanao Avenue in Barangay Pasong Putik Proper on Saturday, according to probers.
The victim, a resident of Barangay Santa Monica, was last seen alive along Neopolitan Business Park on Friday, based on the vehicle’s dashcam footage.
Citing video footage from the dashcam, police said an unidentified man had broken into the doctor’s vehicle and repeatedly stabbed him.
Police investigators said the victim died from multiple stab wounds.
His body was brought to a funeral parlor for an autopsy.
A pair of iris scissors with bloodstains, believed to be the suspect’s murder weapon, was recovered in the car.
Probers did not disclose other details about the suspect.
The motive behind the physician’s murder has yet to be established by investigators.
