ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — The provincial government of Basilan has offered a P1-million reward for the recapture of five detainees who bolted a jail facility in Isabela City on Sunday.

Gov. Jim Hataman-Salliman urged tipsters to also provide information that can lead to the arrest of two people responsible for the escape of the inmates.

The fugitives – Muad Ahmad, Teddi Boga, Ibrahim Badju, Mahad Hassan and Amar Mohammad – are facing murder complaints.

Authorities have yet to identify the two people who pretended to visit an inmate at the Isabela Provincial Jail in Barangay Sumagdang.

The two reportedly intended to spring the  detainees out of their cell.

Col. Cerrazid Umabong, Basilan police director, has  alerted neighboring police units in the province about the incident as well as of the possible attempt of the fugitives to slip out of Basilan.
