MANILA, Philippines — The Manila International Airport Authority has set up 38 new steel gang chairs at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 (NAIA-3) to replace the 30 old ones the MIAA pulled out for being infested with bed bugs.

The MIAA’s media affairs office said 15 gang chairs each were placed in the NAIA-3’s international and domestic lobbies while eight were put in the departure waiting area.

The old gang chairs are being disinfected and repaired, according to the MIAA.

Eric Ines, MIAA general manager, called on the airport’s pest control and housekeeping service providers on March 3 to determine the extent of their duties as he reviewed their existing contracts.

Aside from bed bugs, videos of rats roaming NAIA have also gone viral.
