PNP needs more professionals

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) wants more lawyers, doctors and other professionals to beef up its human resources and capabilities.

PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. said yesterday they need more professionals in their organization to boost their technical experience in various fields of discipline.

“We need more doctors, we need more lawyers whom we are trying to enjoin to join the PNP,” Azurin told reporters in an interview.

Azurin led the oathtaking of 157 technical officers at Camp Crame yesterday. Of this number, 69 are lawyers, 29 are nurses and eight doctors.

The PNP also needs more nurses to shore up its Health Service and information technology professionals for its Anti-Cybercrime Group and Information Technology Management Service.

Azurin, who is known as a religious man, said they also need pastors for their Chaplain Service.

The PNP is also offering posts for engineers, chemists, dentists and other professionals.
