Negros Occidental logs 13 COVID-19 deaths in 2 weeks
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – COVID remains deadly in Negros Occidental, with 13 fatalities due to the viral illness recorded in the past two weeks.
Provincial health officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang said most of the fatalities were unvaccinated and had comorbidities.
The province logged 141 active cases, with 23 new infections on Friday.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson urged his constituents to continue to wear face masks in public utility vehicles and crowded outdoor areas.
The wearing of face masks in open spaces in the province, including this city, is now optional based on executive orders issued by Lacson and Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez.
