DILG cites Muntinlupa’s anti-drug program
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has recognized the Muntinlupa City government for its effective implementation programs against illegal drugs.
The DILG’s National Capital Region office rated as functional Muntinlupa’s anti-drug abuse council (ADAC) in its recent audit of anti-drug abuse programs among key cities and towns.
The DILG also gave a “functional” rating to the city’s peace and order council (POC) for the effective implementation of policies and programs for security and order.
“Thank you to the people behind our anti-drug abuse council and local peace and order Council),” Mayor Rufino Biazon said in a statement.
The audit, which ran from 2019 to 2021, covers the implementation of anti-drug programs by local government units such as interventions for persons who use drugs or PWUDs.
Biazon said the overall state of PWUDS in Muntinlupa is overseen by the drug abuse prevention and control office, which is part of the local ADAC and POC.
