MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — Two persons were wounded when unidentified armed men attacked a village of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in Datu Odin Sinsuat in this province on Saturday.

Residents of Sitio Tinidtiban in Barangay Benolen told authorities that the targets of the attack were the followers of former Cotabato City mayor Muslimin Sema, chairman of the MNLF central committee.

Lt. Col. Assir Balindong, municipal police chief, said villagers Mokamad and Jay-ar were wounded when they were caught in the crossfire.

Probers have yet to identify the armed men.

Responding police officers recovered bullet shells for rifles as well as grenade projectiles at the scene of the incident.

Sema, labor minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, urged the police to identify and arrest the suspects.
