2 hurt in Quezon City fire
MANILA, Philippines — Two persons were injured and 20 families were displaced during a fire that broke out in a residential area in Quezon City on Friday.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started along St. Joseph street in Barangay Holy Spirit at around 11 a.m. and reached the first alarm.
The BFP said the fire originated on the second floor of a two-story house owned by the Bragais family. Arson probers are looking at an electrical wire that malfunctioned as the cause of the blaze.
Resident Alex Vega and Fire Officer 3 Dennis Magsayo suffered a laceration on the foot and first-degree burns on the body, respectively.
Firefighters put out the fire at around 12:34 p.m. Ten houses were destroyed during the fire, displacing about 20 families.
The estimated cost of damage to property was pegged by arson investigators at P50,000.
