Cop probed for abusing wife over online sabong  

MANILA, Philippines — A Manila Police District police officer allegedly hooked on online sabong is under investigation after his wife accused him of abusing her when she questioned him about his gambling on Monday.

According to a police report, Cpl. Jake Cabaltera, 31, allegedly threw a wooden brush at his wife – also a police officer – when she confronted him after she found out he was still playing online sabong. The brush hit her on the head as she was carrying their two-year-old child.

Cabaltera also reportedly locked the gate of their house and threatened that she cannot go to work.

The incident reportedly happened in Cabaltera’s house in Silang, Cavite at around 2:30 p.m.

Cabaltera’s wife also informed his mother, who also admonished him for his gambling.
