S-PaSS still needed in Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — With the retention of Negros Occidental under Alert Level 2, travelers are still required to register with the S-PaSS or Safe, Swift and Smart Passage system before visiting the province.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson said registering with the S-PaSS would not be a hassle to fully vaccinated travelers.
The S-PaSS is a travel management system developed by the Department of Science and Technology to facilitate domestic travel amid varying restriction levels due to COVID.
The province’s capital city of Bacolod has been downgraded to Alert Level 1 starting today until March 15 by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Lacson said there would be an increase in flights between Manila and Cebu now that Bacolod is under Alert Level 1.
As of Sunday, the number of active COVID cases in Negros Occidental was down to 336, from its peak of more than 3,600 three weeks ago.
