3 killed in Cotabato gun attack

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Three persons were killed in a gun attack in this city yesterday.

Norma Dalimbang, Ali Tamal and an eight-year-old boy were in a Toyota Vios when they were fired at in Barangay Rosary Heights at around 10 a.m. The victims died at the scene.

Brig. Gen. Eden Ugale, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao police director, said the city police should seek the assistance of barangay officials to identify the culprits.

In Laguna, retired police officer Melvin Llanes was gunned down in Calamba on Monday night.

Llanes was former head of the intelligence unit of the Calamba police and founder of an anti-crime watchdog in Laguna.
