Village officials nabbed for quarantine violation

VILLASIS, Pangasinan, Philippines — A barangay councilman and a village watchman were among 10 persons nabbed for violating quarantine rules in this town on Sunday.

The violators, who were in an ambulance, came from Meycauayan, Bulacan and headed for Malasiqui town in this province.

The barangay officials were identified as Fortunato Macalipas, 42, and Joel Policarpio, 38, watchman and councilman, respectively.

The violators failed to present their quarantine passes.

They were placed under the custody of the Villasis police for proper disposition.
