Quezon City business centers to open in 3 Robinsons malls

Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City residents will soon be able to pay local taxes at three Robinsons malls in the city.

Mayor Joy Belmonte last week signed a memorandum of agreement with officials of Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) for the establishment of city business centers at Robinsons Galleria, Magnolia and Novaliches in January.

“We are pursuing the installation of payment kiosks in strategic places with heavy foot traffic like malls because we want to make our citizens’ lives easier. This is one of our ways to bring the government closer to the people,” Belmonte said.

“At the same time, through this, we’ll be able to empower our business owners, especially the micro, small and medium enterprises, by giving them an easier, time-saving way of managing their business,” she added.

Belmonte, together with city treasurer Edgar Villanueva, signed the agreement with RLC executive vice president Faraday Go and senior vice president Arlene Magtibay.

Once established, the business centers will be able to accept real property tax assessment and payments, as well as local business tax payments from Quezon City residents and business owners.
