Woman dies of electrocution in Cagayan

TUGUEGARAO, Cagayan, Philippines — A woman died of electrocution while three of her family members were injured in Abulug, Cagayan on Monday.

An electric wire which fell after it was hit by a cement mixer landed in an irrigation canal where Ariestotle Alilam, 12, was playing at around 1:50 p.m.

Alielam’s mother Vangie, 21; his father Ricardo, 27, and his grandfather Romeo, 61, suffered burns when they tried to pull the boy from the canal.

The victims were taken to the Far North Luzon Hospital and Training Center in Luna, Apayao, where Vangie was pronounced dead on arrival.
