CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — Illegal lumber worth at least P1.2 million were seized in a police operation in Lopez, Quezon yesterday morning.

The operation also resulted in the arrest of truck driver Juanito Leop and his companions Joel Raban Osabel, Mike Angelo Jerusalem, Jonson Oligino and Dennis Rosales.

The suspects were reportedly caught loading at least 10,000 board feet of coconut lumber into a delivery van in Barangay Cawayan at around 7 a.m., according to Quezon police director Senior Superintendent Osmundo de Guzman.

He said the suspects failed to present documents for the cargo.
